- I have begun spending time searching the U.S. census returns and am gaining valuable information. Most important, I have found the birth record of Julyana Browne in Bethnal Green, London, 6 January 1783 and christening on 12 February 1783. Corroborative evidence for this birth is in the 1860 Madison County, Indiana, Census "July" Hardy born England (widow of Sam Hardy which we know is the case) age 67. So the AD is wrong in this instance, and it explains
- 1. how a civilian with wife and child could come to the colonies in 1780 with the war still on
- 2. Narrows the time we cannot account for MB's whereabouts from 1780 to 1787 to ca 1784-5 to 1787.
- I am now looking for families of daughters of Martin Browne, Elizabeth Muse, Ann___, Mary (Polly) Custer, Amelia Tucker. I have Amelia's family. I am also looking for families of Martin Browne, Jr's daughters: Mary Ann Howard, Susanna Nicholson, Harriet Veach, Emily Johnson, Elizabeth Templin, Louisa Roach.
